A Observation On Preschool Observation - 1907 Words

PRESCHOOL OBSERVATION 1. THE SETTING: I got an appointment for observation on July 13 at De-Anza Child Development Center. I chose room No. 26 for observation. I observed one child from 3:26 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. There are total 10 children present in room no.26 at the time of my observation. Out of 10 there are 4 girls and 6 boys. They range from 3 to 5 years of age. There are three adults in the room, all are female. One adult for every 3 children- 1:3. When I entered kids are doing free play. I settled myself and started to observe a kid named Aaron. He is around 3 and half years of age. The classroom is large, colorful, bright and well lit. It is divided in six parts. He removes same shoe with right hand by pulling Velcro with the same hand. He throws some dust out of his right shoe with his left hand. He puts on right leg shoe, with right hand. He closes Velcro with right hand. Aaron’s adult tells everyone â€Å"cleanup†. He picks up red car from the floor, which is front of him and puts the red car in the basket on the table. He picks up green monster truck from the floor and puts the monster truck in the same basket. He picks up plastic camel from the floor and put in the basket on one shelf, which is right in front of him. He picks up rubric cube from the floor and puts it in one pla stic box, which is open on the third table. He closes the lid of that plastic box and puts the box away in the shelf. He picks up one green car from the floor and puts it in the basket. He picks up one peace of puzzle and sets it in the puzzle frame, which is lying on the floor. He picks up another peace from the floor and joins in the puzzle. He picks up another peace from the floor and attaches it into the puzzle. How Delegates to Presidential Conventions Are Selected

In the summer of every presidential election year, political parties in the United States typically conduct national conventions to choose their presidential candidates. At the conventions, the presidential candidates are selected by groups of delegates from each state. After a series of speeches and demonstrations in support of each candidate, the delegates begin to vote, state-by-state, for the candidate of their choice. The first candidate to receive a preset majority number of delegate votes becomes the partys presidential candidate. The candidate selected to run for president then selects a vice presidential candidate. Delegates to the national conventions are selected at the state level, according to rules and formulas determined by each political partys state committee. While these rules and formulas can change from state-to-state and from year-to-year, there remain two methods by which the states choose their delegates to the national conventions: the caucus and the primary. The Primary In states holding them, presidential primary elections are open to all registered voters. Just like in general elections, voting is done through a secret ballot. Voters may choose from among all registered candidates and write-ins are counted. There are two types of primaries, closed and open. In a closed primary, voters may vote only in the primary of the political party in which they registered. For example, a voter who registered as a Republican can only vote in the Republican primary. In an open primary, registered voters can vote in the primary of either party, but are allowed to vote in only one primary. Most states hold closed primaries. Primary elections also vary in what names appear on their ballots. Most states hold presidential preference primaries, in which the actual presidential candidates names appear on the ballot. In other states, only the names of convention delegates appear on the ballot. Delegates may state their support for a candidate or declare themselves to be uncommitted. In some states, delegates are bound, or pledged to vote for the primary winner in voting at the national convention. In other states, some or all delegates are unpledged, and free to vote for any candidate they wish at the convention. The Caucus Caucuses are simply meetings, open to all registered voters of the party, at which delegates to the partys national convention are selected. When the caucus begins, the voters in attendance divide themselves into groups according to the candidate they support. The undecided voters congregate into their own group and prepare to be courted by supporters of other candidates. Voters in each group are then invited to give speeches supporting their candidate and trying to persuade others to join their group. At the end of the caucus, party organizers count the voters in each candidates group and calculate how many delegates to the county convention each candidate has won. As in the primaries, the caucus process can produce both pledged and unpledged convention delegates, depending on the party rules of the various states. How Delegates are Awarded The Democratic and Republican parties use different methods for determining how many delegates are awarded to, or pledged to vote for the various candidates at their national conventions. Democrats use a proportional method. Each candidate is awarded a number of delegates in proportion to their support in the state caucuses or the number of primary votes they won. For example, consider a state with 20 delegates at a democratic convention with three candidates. If candidate A received 70% of all caucus and primary votes, candidate B 20% and candidate C 10%, candidate A would get 14 delegates, candidate B would get 4 delegates and candidate C would get two delegates. In the Republican Party, each state chooses either the proportional method or a winner-take-all method of awarding delegates. Under the winner-take-all method, the candidate getting the most votes from a states caucus or primary gets all of that states delegates at the national convention. Strategic, Tactical and Administrative Crime Analysis Talisa Mulligan Unit 2 Project CJ110: Introduction to Crime Analysis Professor Moore June 24, 2011 It is important to make sure that when a crime occurs, all the pieces of evidence are gathered, all the victims and witnesses are questioned separately and as soon as possible while the crime details are still fresh in their minds. An important question to ask the victims and witnesses is any description of the criminal, physical, sound of the criminal’s voice, what they were wearing, and any distinguishing marks, behavior or anything else that they noticed to help identify the criminal. In this project, I was to read three crimes that occurred and discuss what type of analysis I would use, clues to the different crimes that I could use to help identify the criminal, how the MO’s were similar and different, whether or not I suspect these crimes are tied together as a series, and what types of work products I would utilize to help identify the criminals. Tactical analysis is used on a daily basis to look for potential crime patterns that may be beginning or already existing to help catch the criminal and prevent them from committing further crimes. I would refer to tactical analysis with these three incidences because I can identify similarities within the crime scenes, including the locations, dates, times, and descriptions of the offenders. When reviewing the information, I notice similarities in the three crimes which tells me this is a crime series. A crime series is multiple crimes committed by the same offenders. The similarities found from the information gathered from the scenes and witnesses that I noticed are the disguises the offenders wore, the places they robbed, the times of the night, the locations, and what they took. All three crimes had similar modus operandi (MO). The suspects entered the convenience stores at night, with guns in their hands, masks on their faces, and black hooded sweatshirts on. The suspects took the money from the registers and cartons of Marlboro cigarettes. In two of the three crimes, two suspects entered the store. One suspect entered the store in the third crime, however; was heard yelling to a second individual. The MO’s that differed from the three crimes are within the third crime. Only one suspect entered, and he actually struck the employee with the butt of the gun. That was the first physical incident that occurred within this series of crimes. Some clues to help identify the suspects are a tattoo of a spider with droplets of blood on one of the suspect’s right leg and he was a white male. Surveillance in the last two crimes were on surveillance and caught the incidents and the suspects’ car as they were leaving. The car was a tan Ford Taurus with temporary plates, the numbers weren’t seen. In the last robbery, the one male suspect who entered the store by himself, called the other suspect â€Å"Nemo† which could be a nickname the other suspect is known by. During the robbery, the suspects took cartons of Marlboro cigarettes, and although that is a popular brand, they may be have an over abundance of them or may be selling them. During the first robbery, the employee noticed the suspects were wearing gloves, but the employee in the second robbery did not notice if they were wearing gloves, and in the third robbery, there was no mention if gloves were worn, so there is a good chance the scene could supply fingerprints. And finally, in the last two robberies, the suspects were seen leaving eastbound on Mainstreet, which is a good indicator it is the direction of where they live or can be found. Work products I would utilize for this series of crime are briefings with the officers, so they will have knowledge of the crimes and any updated information on the suspects so they can keep an eye out while they are out on patrol. I would use crime bulletins and reports, which will allow me to see if similar reports have been made at other locations to help determine where the suspects are traveling and if more information is gathered on them. I would reach out to the media with special alerts to see if anyone has any further information. Utilizing charts and spreadsheets will help keep track of where the suspects have been and help predict where they may go, and what areas need to be patrolled more. In these three crimes, the suspects for the most part, remained consistant, and I think that while they continue to do so, it will make the job of the analysist and officers much easier to apprehend these individuals. Always try to conserve water, as the less water you use, the less runoff and wastewater eventually find their way back into the oceans. The advantages of using water responsibly are that many people actually care about the ocean and it affects the people too (money and tourism). The disadvantages are that many of the sewage are nowhere to go except the ocean. People cannot dump them on lands or farms or even near people where they live. I think that it will not be successful because if this is continuous till the future, then it will affect a lot, no more species left to live in the ocean, and coral reefs will rot. Keep the marine environment clean: Help keep our reefs and beaches clean, and in addition to picking up your own trash, carry away the trash that others have left behind. More than just an unsightly nuisance, beach and reef litter poses a significant threat to the health and survival of marine organisms, which can swallow or get tangled in beverage containers, plastic bags , six-pack rings, and other debris. Remove only recent waste from the natural environment, as waste that has been in place for a long time often becomes a home for marine organisms. The advantages of this strategy are that we could make a difference by reducing, reusing and recycling many things like plastic, glass and other more. Disadvantages of keeping the marine clean is that it is going to quickly. Many parts of the ocean is covered by garbage (plastic, cans, bottles, glass) the size of Texas!! It may be successful and it may not. It may be successful because everyone can take part in this and work together as human beings and group work all around the world and make a difference.
